We also witnessed the impressive Mount Ngauruhoe, famously known as "Mount Doom" from The Lord of the Rings films, standing tall with its perfect volcanic cone.
The Emerald Lakes - A True Gem from Above
One of the absolute highlights of the flight was gazing down at the stunning Emerald Lakes. These vibrant turquoise pools, nestled among the rugged terrain of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, appeared like shimmering jewels set into the mountainside. The contrast between the vivid green lakes and the barren volcanic landscape made for a truly mesmerizing sight.
